This film is close to my heart because it’s about a girl and her blog, and about believing you can win. And because I’ve made over fifteen people watch it and love it. And because Amy Adams and Meryl Streep together. *chokes up*
Since I’ve had to order cakes for loved ones in both cities, here is a handy list of Delhi’s and Mumbai’s best home bakers. (Thanks, PopXO and Meenakshi Reddy Madhavan!)
An article I go back to again and again, because it’s about one of my favourite enterpreneurs- Sara Blakely of Spanx
I dare you to not laugh your innards out at the winning entries to the Bulwer Lytton Prize for the bestworst opening lines to a hypothetical novel. Sample this gem: ‘She sipped her latte gracefully, unaware of the milk foam droplets building on her mustache, which was not the peachy-fine baby fuzz that Nordic girls might have, but a really dense, dark, hirsute lip-lining row of fur common to southern Mediterranean ladies nearing menopause, and winked at the obviously charmed Spaniard at the next table.’ And then there’s the hilarious Diagram Prize for the world’s oddest book title. Actual titles-Proceedings of the Second International Workshop on Nude Mice (1978) and People Who Don’t Know They’re Dead: How They Attach Themselves to Unsuspecting Bystanders and What to Do About It (2005)
One of my favourite songs to listen to when it’s raining. I love these girls!
